Please join us for the 8th annual BAM Breakfast for Community Leaders. This event is an opportunity for local professionals to discuss how the arts contribute to our region’s economic vitality and foster civic participation. Guests will join 150+ Northwest business and community leaders as we support Bellevue Arts Museum and celebrate the vibrant economy of the Eastside.

Our featured speaker Mona Lee Locke, Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at MG2, will present on the value of the arts and its important role in shaping vibrant communities. We’ll be honoring Alex Smith of Kaye-Smith Enterprises with the 2018 Rondo Award for Smith’s extraordinary leadership in support to local arts organizations. The event will conclude with an exclusive tour of BAM’s current exhibitions led by Director & Chief Curator, Ben Heywood.

Featured Speaker

Mona Lee Locke

Mona Lee Locke has a strong passion for community involvement and international relations. She is an Emmy-nominated, award winning journalist who has shared her perspectives with audiences around the world on topics including: education, U.S.-China dynamics; women in leadership; volunteerism and philanthropy; and business and cultural issues. Locke has held a variety of positions in journalism, communications, corporate and community partnerships, and government relations. She began her career as a reporter for news stations including Seattle’s KIRO-TV and KING-TV. Most recently, Locke joined MG2 as vice president of strategy and business development where she helps develop, foster and leverage long-term partnerships, oversees the marketing department and works with leadership to set the vision for the firm’s growth. Prior to this, Locke worked at Susan G. Komen leading operations, community engagement, and major fundraising efforts – first as executive director of the Puget Sound affiliate, and later as the national operations director in Washington D.C. Mona also has significant public affairs experience having served for eight years as Washington State’s first lady and more recently, the U.S. Department of State where she worked on issues pertaining to U.S.-China relations.
