After much anticipation, the new and improved Meydenbauer Bay Park is nearing completion and will welcome the whole community to play and paddle for years to come. Planning began in 2007 with the development of a master plan, with help from the community and city staff. The team broke ground in 2017 and is now ready to unveil the expanded park and newfound gem in the Bellevue Parks Network. You’re invited to join the City of Bellevue for the Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, March 16th from 11 am – 2 pm, featuring a ribbon cutting, live music, activities and food.

Features of the new park include a large public swimming beach and swimming platform; a 400-foot-long pedestrian pier; walkways and overlooks; a new beach house with restrooms, changing rooms, and a lifeguard station; children’s playground area; and seasonal canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddle board rentals. From your picnic blanket on plateaus nestled into the slope of the park, take a look back at the city’s skyscrapers to remind yourself that yes, you’re still in Downtown Bellevue!
